The power of relationships is becoming increasingly recognized in medicine and the power it has to keep us healthy.
Our ultimate nature is to communicate with other human beings, feel a sense of community. We sometimes forget that when I get caught up in my day to day life trying to be productive.
In a recent study, Doctor Waldinger proves this point back up with scientifically and goes as far as claiming that “Loneliness kills, it’s as powerful as smoking or alcoholism.” It creates stress within your body which is the source of disease. Beneficial social interactions make you feel nourishment, whole, satisfied. Look for that soul community, that connection, those boundaries against toxic people. Having worthy relationships will make you feel fulfilled, it will make you glow. There is no point on leading a life running marathons and drinking green juice if you neglect your social life.
If you feel a bit down, sometimes it’s hard putting yourself out there and being social but it will make you feel better. Make sure to surround yourself with the right people, that have qualities that you admire, people that bring you up.
So you know what to do: get out here (with the right people), call that friend, go have that coffee, have a laugh and don’t loose your sparkle.
